Computer-Related Incidents with Commercial Aircraft
Air UK Leisure A320, Loss of braking and runway overrun, Ibiza, Balearic Islands, 21 May 1998
21 May 1998Synopsis The aircraft experienced braking problems on landing, partly due to computer failure, and overran the runway at Ibiza airport. This incident was brought to my attention by John Sampson, who pointed me to the Final Report.
I recounted this incident in an article A320 incident partly due to computer failure in the Risks Digest, Volume 22 Number 65, 28 March, 2003.
